Our History

Johnston-Edgefield-Trenton Middle School was established in 1993. The sixth through eighth grade population and teachers from these communities merged into one school.  Located near the geographic center of Edgefield County, an historically agricultural area, J.E.T. Middle is home to nearly 600 students, 56 faculty and staff members, a full time nurse, a guidance counselor, a career coordinator, and three full-time administrators.

Our school has made great accomplishments in its 18 years of existence.  In addition to a rigorous curriculum, students have an opportunity to participate in our award winning band program, an outstanding sports program, and many leadership opportunities through various clubs.  Our school has been awarded Exemplary Writing Status numerous times over the years, and our most cherished accomplishment was being named a Carolina First Palmetto's Finest School. We are SACS accredited and an institutional member of the Middle School Association of South Carolina.
