Mr. Moore's
Biography & Philosophy

I am excited to have the opportunity to join the administrative team at J-E-T Middle School. I look forward to working with the students, parents, and faculty/staff of J-E-T.  I have worked in the Edgefield County School District for the past five years at Strom Thurmond High School where I held the positions of Career Development Facilitator and Guidance Counselor. During my time at STHS I had the pleasure of coaching the boys and girls tennis teams and assisted with the Varsity boys’ basketball team.

I turned to the field of education as a second career in 1999. Although it was something I considered at an early age, I did not feel it was the career for me at that time. After getting married, I began to rethink my career choice and decided that I wanted to pursue a career in education. I received my Bachelor’s Degree from Voorhees College, my Master’s of Education in School Counseling from Cambridge College and my Education Specialist in Educational Leadership from Cambridge College. I plan to pursue yet another degree…my Education Doctorate in the near future.

I have been married for 12 years and we have four beautiful daughters...Ariel, Amaya, Aricka, & Arin.  My wife has worked for 13 years in special education. When away from school, I enjoy fishing, playing golf, and spending time with my family.  I also enjoy volunteering as a coach for my daughters’ recreation basketball teams.

My philosophy of education is that if students don’t learn the way that we teach then we must teach the way that they learn. I look forward to having an exciting and productive school year at J-E-T. I welcome you to visit me at any time, my door is always open. Please feel free to make any suggestions, comments, questions, concerns, or just drop by to introduce yourself.
