    Hello ECSD Family,

This is a very important message regarding an updated attendance policy for Strom Thurmond High School varsity athletic events.

Your safety and the safety of our guests during student events held on our school campuses is our top priority. A series of altercations involving unsupervised minors during a recent football jamboree (not located in Edgefield County) quickly escalated, sending a number of people to an area hospital. This is a scenario we never want to see occur during one of our athletic events.

Moving forward, at all STHS varsity athletic events, no middle or elementary aged students will be admitted without an adult present. There will be no exceptions.

Strom Thurmond High School students have been asked to have their student ID badge, or a picture of their ID badge on their phone, to be admitted to a varsity athletic event. For varsity football games, this will also be required for visiting students from other local high schools for access to the STHS home stands. Any high school student who does not have their ID badge and is not accompanied by an adult must sit in the visitor stands.

Again, during 2022-23 varsity athletic events, no middle or elementary aged students will be admitted without an adult present. There will be no exceptions. This policy will be enforced at our ticket gates by members of law enforcement.

Thank you for your continued support of our Strom Thurmond High School student-athletes and the Edgefield County School District.

    GO REBELS!
