    Mrs. Hagans is originally from New Orleans and earned her bachelor’s degree in special education from Southern University and A&M. She has two master’s degrees–one in curriculum and instruction from the University of New Orleans and another in social work with a concentration in Hispanic communities from Our Lady of the Lake University. She has also completed a certificate program in diversity, equity, and inclusion workplace from the University of Southern Florida - Muma College of Business in Tampa.

    She brings over 20 years of experience in education including serving as an assistant principal, academic coach, general education teacher, and special education teacher in Georgia and Louisiana. She has taught at the elementary, middle and high school levels. She is married with two children. In her free time, Hagans enjoys spending time with her family (including a pitbull terrier), spending time in nature, dancing and reading.

    “I am honored and excited to serve the Edgefield community,” stated Hagans. “It is my goal to do whatever it takes to help Douglas Elementary students and staff succeed. I look forward to building long-lasting relationships with families, employees and the community.“
