2022 Strom Thurmond High School Homecoming Queen is Miss Priah Mack; Miss Kayla Williams named First Runner-Up and Miss Caroline Quarles Second Runner-Up

Johnston, SC – Congratulations to our 2022 Strom Thurmond High School Homecoming Queen Miss Priah Mack. Miss Kayla Williams was named First Runner-Up and Miss Caroline Quarles was named Second Runner-Up.

Homecoming queen Priah Mack is the daughter of Bobby Mack and Kendra Bacon. She was escorted by her brother, Mr. Elijah Mack. She  is a member of the National Technical Honors Society and the Cosmetology Club at STHS. After high school, she plans to attend Spelman College and major in Health Science. After college, Priah plans to become an ENT surgeon while also starting her own successful business. 

Our first runner-up, Miss Kayla Williams, is the daughter of Gary Williams and Cheryl Weaver. She was escorted by her uncle, Mr. Kevin Weaver. Kayla plays on the Rebel Varsity Volleyball Team and runs for the Varsity Track and Field team. She is also a member of the Rebel Zone Rundown News Crew and serves as a Student Ambassador. Kayla plans to attend the University of South Carolina where she will major in Computer Science. 

Second runner-up Miss Caroline Quarles, is the daughter of Brook Quarles and Jennifer Johnson. She was escorted by her brother, Mr. Gage Quarles. Caroline’s extracurricular activities include Student Council, Beta Club and DECA. She is also a captain of the Varsity Cheerleading team. After high school, Caroline plans to attend Jacksonville University, where she intends to pursue a degree in aviation to become an airline pilot. 

Other members of the 2022 Homecoming Court included Miss Savannah Agner, Miss Abigail Amos, Miss Jmyah Brannon, Miss Carly Fleming, Miss Eliza Holmes, Miss Chloe Johnfroe, Miss Laila Lanham, Miss Sara Wates, Miss Cara Williams and Miss Beth Yonce.

Miss Savannah Agner is the daughter of Travis and Shannon Agner. She was escorted by Mr. Jacob Mims.  Savannah plays on the STHS varsity volleyball and softball teams. When she is not playing for STHS, she plays for her travel softball team or competes with her shooting team. After high school, Savannah plans to major in nursing to become a CRNA. 

Miss Abigail Amos is the daughter of Jason Amos and Rebecca Stribling. She was escorted by her father, Mr. Jason Amos. Abby is a member of the Varsity Cheerleading team, The Statesman’s Yearbook staff, FFA and serves as a DECA officer. She plans to attend college and major in Nursing after high school. 

Miss Jmyah Brannon is the daughter of Lamont and Nikema Brannon. She was escorted by her father, Mr. Lamont Brannon. Jmyah is a member of the STHS varsity Cheerleading Team. After high school, Jymah plans to attend South Carolina State University’s Business program.

Miss Carly Fleming is the daughter of James and Lori Fleming. She was escorted by her father, Mr. James Fleming. Carly is a member of FFA, serves as a DECA officer and is Senior Class Treasurer for Student Council. After high school, she plans to attend Clemson University, where she will begin her journey to become a Veterinarian by studying Pre-Vet Medicine. 

Miss Eliza Holmes is the daughter of Lee and Elizabeth Holmes. She was escorted by her father, Mr. Lee Holmes. Eliza serves as HOSA President, Captain of the Swim Team and a Student Ambassador for the school. She is also a member of FBLA, Beta Club and was a representative at Girls State. After high school, she plans to attend Clemson or Wofford University, where she will major in Health Science. 

Miss Chloe Johnfroe is the daughter of Damien and Dawn Johnfroe. She was escorted by her grandfather, Mr. Harold Johnfroe. Chloe is a member of the National Technical Honors Society, Beta Club, is a FBLA officer and a Student Ambassador at Strom Thurmond High School. Following high school, Chloe plans to attend the University of South Carolina and major in Biology.

Miss Laila Lanham is the daughter of Tellex and Jennifer Lanham. She was escorted by her brother, Mr. Tre Lanham. At Strom Thurmond, Laila serves as captain for the Varsity Cheerleading Team, President of FBLA, is a student athletic trainer, a Student Ambassador, and a member of the Beta Club and the National Technical Honors Society. After high school, Laila plans to attend the University of South Carolina where she will major in Exercise Science, then continue her education with the goal of becoming a Sports Physical Therapist. 

Miss Sara Wates is the daughter of Jay and Ginger Wates. She was escorted by her father, Mr. Jay Wates. Sara is a Student Ambassador who has previously served as an officer for FFA. Outside of STHS, she is a member of the Sporting Clay Team for Richland Creek Top Gun. After high school, Sara plans to attend Clemson University to study Animal and Veterinary Science. She then plans to continue her education at the University of Georgia’s Veterinary School.  

Miss Cara Williams is the daughter of Casey Williams and Laura Ware. She was escorted by her mother, Mrs. Laura Ware. Cara is a member of the Strom Thurmond Rebel Regiment Marching Band, the Strom Thurmond Drama department, FBLA and Beta Club. She also serves as a Student Ambassador.  After high school, Cara plans to attend USC Aiken and major in business. 

Miss Beth Yonce is the daughter of Jeff and Jenny Yonce. She was escorted by her brother, Mr. Will Yonce. Beth is a member of our Varsity Cheerleading team. Outside of STHS, she is training for the Miss South Carolina Teen USA competition. After high school, Beth plans to attend Newberry College and major in nursing, where she hopes to become a labor and delivery nurse.
