Johnston, SC – During the November regular meeting of the Edgefield County Board of Education, held Tuesday, November 15, 2022, school board members approved the school district’s 2023-24 academic calendar.

The 2023-24 Edgefield County School District (ECSD) Academic Calendar is available for download on the school district’s website at https://www.edgefield.k12.sc.us/ by clicking the link on the website’s “Important Information” banner at the top of the home page or by clicking on the “FIND IT FAST” calendar icon and then selecting the 2023-24 Academic Calendar under “Printable Calendars”.

The 2023-2024 academic calendar marks the second year of the school district’s modified academic calendar. The modified academic calendar for the 2023-2024 school year is more closely aligned with area school district calendars. This includes school year start and end dates as well as holidays. 

A request to more closely align the ECSD academic calendar with other area school districts was a frequent response included among modified academic calendar feedback received from school district employees, parents and community members.

The first day of school for the 2023-2024 school year will be Tuesday, July 25, 2023. The final day of school will be Thursday, May 30, 2024.
