Over Eighty Strom Thurmond High School Students Take Advantage of National Job Shadow Day to Explore Potential Careers

Johnston, SC – On this year’s National Job Shadow Day, Strom Thurmond High School senior Jonathan Dean found an outstanding career experience awaiting him at Mulch & More in North Augusta. While the business certainly serves the community by offering mulch and landscaping supplies, there is indeed more to the business, as it also features a vehicle repair shop.
“It was a great experience because they have everything here out front, but there is also the shop in the back, so I was able to get a look at different jobs and also learn more about what it takes to actually run a business behind the scenes,” stated Jonathan during a break in his job shadow duties. “Owning my own business may be something I want to do in the future, so this has been a great experience for me.”
Eighty additional students from Strom Thurmond High School had similar experiences with many different career pathways on National Job Shadow Day (Feb. 2).
