Close to One Hundred Strom Thurmond High School Seniors Celebrate Next Steps on 'Senior Signing Day'

Johnston, SC - Graduation week for the Strom Thurmond High School Class of 2023 has arrived and we are ready to celebrate the tremendous achievements of our Rebels with their families and friends and the community on Friday (6/2).

During STHS "Senior Day" festivities held last week, close to 100 graduating seniors who have committed to a college, university, career or military service participated in the annual tradition of "Senior Signing Day" when Rebel seniors sign a banner signifying the next steps in their lives. Following graduation, the banner will be placed in a hallway at the school to serve as encouragement for rising seniors and Rebel classes to come.

The largest number of seniors will attend the University of South Carolina Aiken. Among the signees are four seniors who are committed to military service, in Christian Stringer, Sentrell Grim, Will Logue and Gabriel Merriweather. One senior, Hunter Emmons, is immediately entering the workforce with the S.C. Department of Education, while a second, Deshaun Middleton, will be working with the Edgefield County School District.
